SAO PAULO, Aug 10 (Reuters) – Brazil’s JBS, the world’s largest meatpacker, announced Wesley Batista Filho as its new chief executive officer on Monday.
Batista Filho, a member of the founding family and the current head of JBS’ main unit JBS USA, will replace Gilberto Tomazoni, who has been in the role since 2018, the company said in a securities filing.
Tomazoni will become the vice chairman of the board of directors and a senior adviser to the firm.
Batista Filho is the son of Wesley Batista, a former JBS CEO who controls together with his brother Joesley Batista the J&F conglomerate, which the meatpacking company is a part of.
